Comprehensive history File
SGT Automobiles are proud to offer this stunning low mileage Jet Black BMW Z3 2.8 for sale. The BMW Z3 launched in 1995 at the beginning of the small sports car resurgence. Its stylish design and sporty characteristics summed up the era it was born into, coinciding with the reboot of the James Bond franchise, the Z3 was a natural new fit to lead a new partnership between BMW and Bond, with Pierce Brosnan and the Z3 legitimising this new era. This was just the start of the Z3 journey as in 1998 the much anticipated 6-cylinder version was launched.
Both 2.0 and 2.8 litre versions were initially available, the same engines as seen in the E36 3 series, a natural fit given the shared platform between the two cars. Of these pre-facelift cars, the 2.8 litre became known as the ‘Widebody’ due to its more aggressive flared rear arches. In 2000 a Facelift version was introduced again available with both 4- and 6-cylinder engines. The facelift cars carried over the look of the ‘Widebody’ due to its popularity.
The car we have for sale is a 1998 BMW Z3 2.8 litre Automatic with just 32,100 miles on the clock. Supplied new by Jacksons BMW in Jersey, the car has been owned by the same family since new. Throughout its ownership the car has been meticulously cared for, with 15 stamps in the service book either from supplying dealer or renowned specialists. The car is as correct an example as you are likely to find.
Finished in menacing Jet Blac Metallic with matching Black Leather interior and Black soft top, this car presents superbly. The bodywork is incredibly straight, some stone chips and dust scratching is visible if one were to be ultra-critical.
Mechanically the car is runs and drives flawlessly, as you would expect from such cherished ownership. The 2.8 litre M52 engine produces 190BHP sent directly to the rear wheels, paired beautifully with an Automatic gear box the Z3 certainly lives up to the idea of BMW’s being the ultimate driving machine.
The interior is finished in to the high standard expected of BMW’s from this time. Little wear to the Leather and door trims along with a pristine dash shows how cared for the car has been. The electric seats can be intermittent, likely caused by a lack of constant use, a clean of the connections would likely resolve all issues. The electric hood works faultlessly and the boot compartment is as new with original tool kit, first aid kit, warning triangle and tyre all present and unused.
Recent work that has been carried out includes a new hood, an overhaul of the brakes and a full service. The car has just passed its MOT with no advisories.
All of the original paperwork is provided as well as everything necessary to put the car on a UK mainland age related registration plate.
If requested we can guide the new owner through the process or carry it out for them.
