This Mercedes 230TE was supplied new by Jacksons Mercedes Benz, the Channel Islands franchised main dealer. It was requested in non-metallic Barolo Red with Grey Cloth Interior and trim. The list of options that the original owner selected include; Sump Guard, Centre Armrest, 8-Hole Alloy Wheels, Heavy Duty Over Mats, Boot Mat and 7-Seats.
The car we have for sale is a particularly impressive example of this modern classic. The body work presents impressively with no rust or dents, just a couple of very minor stone chips. All of the typically troublesome areas are unaffected on this car thanks to it having been garaged throughout its life. The underside is likewise rust free and is as good as I have seen for a long time, likely thanks to the lack of salt on the roads in Jersey.
As for the interior, it is in superb order, all of the seats are in perfect condition with even the drivers seat unmarked. The headlining, door trims, carpets are all in order and there is no cracking on the dashboard, the only areas of imperfection is some minor cracking on the centre consul wood around the gear stick and some sun damage to the boot compartment pillar trims.
Mechanically, the car is in extremely good order, ready to be driven for hundreds of thousands of miles as so many of these era Mercedes have. A full advisory free MOT has recently been awarded, a testament to how well this car has been maintained throughout its life.
The car has spent the vast majority of its existence living a sympathetic life on Jersey, and was used by the original owner for family holidays to their home in the South of France. The car also proudly wears a period AA badge which was fitted in the 90s by the original owner.
All the paperwork in order for an age-related UK number plate to be issued is present, the Export Certificate, Nova letter (showing all duties has been paid), MOT and V55/5 form. We are happy to carry out this for process the new owner.
The car will be supplied with all of its original books, bills and paperwork as well as the original service book. The car also comes with its original spare wheel, jack and tool kit.
